Eidos

Beams of light illuminate glass prisms in darkness, reflecting and refracting in complex and surprising ways. When light travels through air and enters a denser medium such as glass, it will bend and possibly reflect inside, complicating the its path and the scene as viewed from outside the prism. Eventually, the light beam will exit the prism at a different angle than it entered, and in the process, it fills the subject with a poetic, transcendental presence.

This series was inspired by Plato’s Theory of Forms and his idea that humans must aspire to observing life with rationality and empiricism rather than through the emotional lens of what they are accustomed to believing in.
